Local residents do everything they can to make Sara's stay a pleasant one, but their efforts are more than Sara can take, and she resolves to return their kindness somehow before she goes home. Though Broken Wheel is not a tourist destination, and there is little to see, Sara is still invited to a tour of the area a picnic and an afternoon of watching slash burning near by. Insisting that it was Amy's wish, they convince Sara to stay in her home and carry on with her plans for a vacation, offering her their services and attention for the duration. As Sara is a stranger in Broken Wheel, she has no idea what to do, but the residents of the small town step up, determined to make her stay one that is memorable even though Amy is no longer there.
